If you’ve been to a London park, there’s a good chance you’ve stumbled upon a Colicci! Their kiosks and cafes serve a variety of main food items and sweet treats, and are a great place to put your feet up after traipsing through London’s green areas, or just having a catch up with a friend. But they haven’t always been the beautifully put together locations you’ll find today – Colicci started as an ice cream van in 1982! With big dreams and a lot of passion, they partnered with some of the UK’s biggest events, and found themselves growing to over 20 vans in the late 1990s. Fast forward a few decades, and they now have over 40 sites!
With such ties to green spaces, it’s no surprise that Colicci are environmentally conscious. They state, “Our sites have a constant dialogue with their nature rich environs”, and because of this, they have committed to working in a way that nurtures the nature around them. They’ve carefully assessed each potential area that could be a source of harm to the world, such as emissions from their chain of goods, or how they power their own sites. They’re big on recycling, which even includes “coffee recycling”, where the recycled grounds are used for bio products such as bio-fertiliser! This is with the help of a company Colicci have partnered with, and they’ve partnered with many more to keep their company constantly working to be more sustainable.
